Leon to Astorga

After a ropey breakfast at the albergue we set off on another long day, by the time we reached Astorga it was 33 C. It seemed to be a day of one long climb after another. By now the countryside started to change with more trees, clear streams, canals and fields of maize.

From Hospital de Orbigo another long steady climb starts until the long downhill to Astorga. Astorga was an impressive sight, the cathedral & the Palacio de Gaudi.

This was another difficult place to find somewhere to stay, by the time we found a hostal in the lower part of the town on the road to Molinaseca, we were completely shattered.
